Mr. Le Van Lam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son commune - said that due to the influence of heavy rain, water from upstream poured down strongly, causing My Thuan bridge (about 40-50m long, about 4.5m wide), connecting My Thuan village to the commune's administrative center to be flooded over 1m deep, the water was strong and dangerous.
My Thuan Bridge is flooded, causing isolation of about 265 households with 918 people in My Thuan village.
Ky Son commune authorities have sent forces to set up barriers and warning signs at both ends of My Thuan bridge, and at the same time set up checkpoints to prevent people and vehicles from passing through to ensure safety.
In Ky Lac commune, there are currently 3 bridges across Rao Tro river including Xuan Tien, Lac Trung, Lac Thanh, which are flooded with water about 1-3m deep, the Vietnamese sausagey water is strong, causing separation of Xuan Tien village and some households in Lac Trung and Lac Thanh villages.
The commune government has also set up barriers and warning signs at both ends of the bridge and assigned guards to prevent people and vehicles from passing through to ensure safety.
Currently, heavy rain continues to fall in Ky Son and Ky Lac communes, with water flowing strongly from upstream, so there is a high risk of flooding and local isolation in many areas.
To cope with the flood situation, from 7:00 a.m. on November 5, Ho Ho Hydropower Plant (in Huong Khe district) has regulated the discharge with a flow rate of 154 m3/s to 300 m3/s depending on the different times the water flows into the lake.
Currently, Boc Nguyen Lake, Song Rac Lake, Khe Giao Lake, Khe Xai Lake, Da Cat Lake, Kim Son Lake, Moc Huong Lake, Thuong Song Tri Lake, Da Han Lake, Da Bac Lake... are being discharged with a flow rate of 5 - 30 m3/second.
