According to information from the Border Guard Command of Quang Tri province, as of the afternoon of July 26, many areas in Lieu, A Doi, Dakrong and Lao Bao communes were experiencing moderate to very heavy rain. The water level of the Se Pon River rose, causing flooding of many overflow bridges, seriously affecting people's travel.
In lia commune, heavy rain caused 4 spillways in Thuan 1, 2, 5 and Up Ly 2 villages to be flooded up to 1m deep; many inter-commune traffic sections began to be cut off. Similarly, in A Doi commune (managed by Ba Tang Border Guard Station), water has risen from 0.7m to 1m at the spillways, posing a potential safety risk.
In Dakrong commune alone, the spillways in km28 of Ly Ton village, Ra Phong and Ra Lay villages were flooded from 0.4 - 0.6m, causing temporary traffic disruption. In Lao Bao town, the water level of the Se Pon river continues to rise, which is likely to affect residential areas if heavy rain continues.

In the face of the above situation, border guards have proactively coordinated with local authorities and local forces to synchronously deploy response measures. A total of 27 working groups with 81 officers and soldiers were mobilized to set up warnings, blockade at flooded areas, review areas at risk of landslides and flash floods and be ready to evacuate people when necessary.
Quang Tri Border Guard also implemented the "4 on-site" motto, directing units to grasp the flood situation, increase propaganda for people to raise vigilance, proactively prevent and ensure the safety of life and property. Mobility plans for forces, materials, and rescue and relief vehicles are ready to be deployed when an emergency situation occurs.
