As of 11:00 a.m. on December 16, 2025, according to an update from Vietnam Electricity Group, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir, upstream water level reached 119.71m, water flow to the reservoir was 159.5 m3/s, total discharge was 233.23 m3/s, mainly for power generation.
In the Northwest region, Lai Chau Lake recorded water levels of 294.8m, Son La Lake reached 214.72m, all approaching normal water levels.
Ban Chat and Huoi Quang lakes (Lai Chau province) maintain water levels of 474.64m and 369.85m respectively, with low water flow to the lake, operating stably.
Notably, Hoa Binh hydroelectric reservoir has an upstream water level of 115.8m, water flow to the reservoir is 373 m3/s, total discharge is 931 m3/s, completely through power generation, not yet released.
Meanwhile, Thac Ba Lake maintains a water level of 57.86m, water flow to the lake is 158 m3/s, total discharge is 66.01 m3/s.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, December 16, the Northern and North Central regions will have rain in some places on the night of December 15 and 16. Cold weather, some mountainous areas are very cold.
The Southern region will have showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night, sunny during the day. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
