As of 4:00 p.m. on December 13, 2025, according to an update from Vietnam Electricity Group, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded an upstream water level of 119.66m, approaching the normal water level (120m). The water flow to the lake reached 82 m3/s, the total discharge was 184.7 m3/s, all through the plant, not discharged through the spillway.
In the Northwest region, large hydroelectric reservoirs such as Lai Chau, Son La and Hoa Binh continue to generate electricity normally.
Lai Chau Lake has an upstream water level of 293.44m, 1.56m lower than the normal water level, the flow to the lake is 471 m3/s, the total discharge is 983 m3/s, completely via power generation.
Son La Lake maintains a water level of 214.59m, near normal water level (215m), discharging 778 m3/s through the plant.
Meanwhile, Hoa Binh Lake recorded a water level of 116.16m, lower than the normal water level (117m), with a total discharge of 1,530 m3/s, no overflow.
Ban Chat and Huoi Quang lakes currently have low water flow, respectively 20 m3/s and 17 m3/s, and have not yet discharged water.
Thac Ba Lake (Yen Bai) alone has a water level of 57.89m, nearly the normal water level (58m), with a total discharge of 132.85 m3/s, all through the power plant.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, December 13, due to the influence of cold air combined with convergence in the upper westerly wind zone, the Northern region and from Thanh Hoa to Hue city will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, hail and strong gusts of wind.
The weather in the North will turn cold from December 13, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will be very cold, and some mountainous areas will be very cold.
The Southern region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms.
