According to updated data at 12:00 on July 9, in the Northwest region, Lai Chau Lake has an upstream water level of 284.24 m, 295 m lower than the normal water level. Son La Lake is at 195.38 m, nearly 20 m lower than the normal water level; Hoa Binh Lake reached 103.36 m compared to the normal water level of 117 m.
Meanwhile, Huoi Quang reservoir reached 369.76 m, only 0.24 m away from the normal water level; Ban Chat reservoir reached 458.38 m compared to the normal water level of 475 m.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake has a water level of 107.33 m, 120 m lower than the normal water level. Thac Ba Lake reached 51.74 m, 58 m lower than the normal water level.
In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake has a water level of 157.76 m, approaching the normal water level of 160 m. Ban Ve Lake reached 170.02 m compared to the normal water level of 200 m, while Khe Bo Lake reached 64.41 m above the normal water level of 65 m.
In the South Central region, the water levels of A Vuong, Song Bung 2, Song Bung 4 and Song Tranh 2 reservoirs are all lower than the normal water level by 12-25 m. Song Ba Ha reservoir alone reached 102.44 m, only about 2.6 m lower than the normal water level.
In the Central Highlands, many reservoirs have quite high water levels compared to the design threshold. Se San 3 reservoir reached 303.22 m above the normal water level of 304.5 m; An Khe reservoir reached 428.14 m compared to 429 m; Buon Kuop reservoir reached 409.7 m above the normal water level of 412 m; Dong Nai 4 reservoir reached 474.19 m compared to 476 m. Meanwhile, Thuong Kon Tum, Pleyrong, Ia Ly, Ham Thuan and Dai Ninh reservoirs are still significantly lower than the normal water level.
In the Southeast region, Tri An Lake has a water level of 51.8 m, about 10.2 m lower than the normal water level of 62 m.
In general, operating data shows that most hydropower reservoirs across the country still have flood prevention capacity. Only some reservoirs such as Huoi Quang, Khe Bo, Se San 3, An Khe and Dong Nai 4 have water levels approaching normal water levels, while most large reservoirs still maintain water levels lower than the design threshold to ensure regulation capacity when floods occur in the basin.
