According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 4:00 PM on June 2, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake had an upstream water level of 100.34m, nearly 20m lower than the normal water level of 120m. The water flow to the lake reached 225m3/s, while the total discharge through the plant was 802.14m3/s.
In the Northwest region, Son La reservoir recorded a water level of 194.75m, 20.25m lower than the normal water level. Inflow to the reservoir reached 1,263m3/s, total discharge flow of 1,460m3/s.
Hoa Binh Lake is at an altitude of 101.12m, 15.88m lower than the normal water level; water inflow to the lake reached 3,001m3/s, almost equivalent to the total discharge flow of 2,994m3/s.
Lai Chau, Ban Chat and Huoi Quang reservoirs continue to operate stably. In which, Lai Chau reservoir has a water level of 289.25m, Ban Chat reservoir reaches 442.2m and Huoi Quang reservoir is at 368.86m, approaching the normal water level of 370m.
In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake reached a water level of 154.46m, Ban Ve Lake 177.01m and Khe Bo Lake 63.99m. All lakes did not discharge through spillways, the discharged water mainly serves power generation. Quang Tri Lake recorded a water inflow of only about 2m3/s and did not discharge water.
In the South Central region, many reservoirs have low water inflow. A Vuong reservoir receives 9.17m3/s, Song Tranh 2 reaches 5.72m3/s, Song Bung 4 reaches 12.94m3/s.
Some reservoirs such as Song Ba Ha and Song Hinh continue to operate power generation with discharge flows of 65m3/s and 15.22m3/s respectively.
In the Central Highlands, Ialy Lake recorded the largest water inflow in the area with 320m3/s. Pleiku Lake discharged 300m3/s through the plant, while Se San 4 Lake discharged 70m3/s.
Notably, An Khe reservoir is operating one surface discharge gate with a flow rate of 8m3/s, while Buon Kuop reservoir opens one deep discharge gate, the total discharge flow rate reaches 83.46m3/s.
In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water level of 55.8m, 6.2m lower than the normal water level. The inflow to the reservoir reached 300m3/s, while the total discharge through the plant was 786m3/s.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 2nd, the Northern region (except Quang Ninh-Hai Phong), the North and Central Central regions will be hot, with intense heat in some places with the highest common temperature of 35 - 37 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C.
The Southern region has rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain (rain concentrated in the afternoon and evening).
