According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:00 on May 30, Hoa Binh reservoir had the largest discharge flow among hydropower reservoirs in the Northern region with 2,943 m3/s through the power plant, while the water inflow to the reservoir only reached 425 m3/s.
The water level upstream of Hoa Binh Lake is currently at an elevation of 103.36 m, 13.64 m lower than the normal water level of 117 m.
Similarly, Son La Lake recorded water inflow to the lake reaching 361 m3/s, but the total discharge through the plant reached 1,194 m3/s. The upstream water level of the lake is at 194.73 m, 20 m lower than the normal water level.
At Tuyen Quang Lake, the water flow to the lake only reached 50 m3/s, while the amount of electricity generated through the plant reached 456.98 m3/s. The upstream water level of the lake is currently at 102.88 m, 17.12 m lower than the normal water level.
Meanwhile, Lai Chau, Ban Chat, Huoi Quang and Thac Ba reservoirs did not discharge water at the time of statistics. The water levels of these reservoirs reached 286.94 m; 441.17 m; 368.66 m and 50.2 m respectively.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 30, the Northern region tonight will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Tomorrow the sun will be intermittent with the highest temperature commonly 30 - 33 degrees C.
The Southern region in the late afternoon and evening has scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.
