Water levels of hydropower reservoirs nationwide on May 29th

Many large hydropower reservoirs across the country continue to be lower than the normal water level, while power plants still maintain high discharge flow to serve power generation.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 11:00 AM on May 29, in the Northwest region, Son La hydropower reservoir had an upstream water level of 194.85m, 20m lower than the normal water level of 215m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 739m3/s, while the total discharge through the plant was at level 2. 128m3/s.

Similarly, Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir reached a water level of 104.04m, nearly 13m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the reservoir reached 857m3/s, the total discharge through power generation reached 2,890m3/s.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir recorded a water level of 103.57m, water inflow to the reservoir 243m3/s but total discharge reached 747.38m3/s.

Many hydropower reservoirs in the North Central region continue to operate stably. Ban Ve Lake discharges 331m3/s through the plant; Khe Bo Lake discharges 330.1m3/s; Trung Son Lake discharges 83m3/s.

In the South Central region, Song Bung 4 reservoir discharges 155m3/s; Song Tranh 2 reservoir discharges 107m3/s; Song Ba Ha reservoir discharges 120m3/s to serve power generation.

In the Central Highlands, Se San 4 reservoir recorded a total discharge volume of 440m3/s, while Pleikrông reservoir discharged 173m3/s through the plant. Some reservoirs have operated spillways such as An Khê discharging 8m3/s through 1 surface discharge gate; Buôn Kuốp discharging 15.35m3/s through 1 deep discharge gate; Srêpốk 3 discharging 0.8m3/s through 2 deep discharge gates.

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir has a water flow to the reservoir reaching 320m3/s, the total discharge through the plant is at 833m3/s.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 29, the Northern and North Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. Rain will concentrate in the late afternoon and night.

The area from Quang Tri to Da Nang city, the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak have hot sun with the highest temperature commonly 35 - 36 degrees C, in some places above 36 degrees C.

The Southern region has showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain; from tomorrow evening, there will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.
