According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 1:00 PM on May 28, in the Northwest region, the water level of Hoa Binh Lake was at an elevation of 104.28m, nearly 13m lower than the normal water level of 117m. Son La Lake was at 195.34m, nearly 20m lower than the normal water level.
Lai Chau Lake is currently at an altitude of 285.02m, about 10m lower than the normal water level; Ban Chat Lake reaches 440.56m, 34m lower. Meanwhile, Huoi Quang Lake reaches 368.5m, only about 1.5m away from the normal water level.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded a water level of 104.36m, nearly 16m lower than the normal water level.
In the North Central region, Trung Son Lake reached an altitude of 153.1m, Ban Ve Lake at 170.4m and Khe Bo Lake reached 64.78m, both lower than the normal water level.
The South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions continue to record many lakes with water levels approaching the normal level. Se San 3 lake reached 304.39m, nearly reaching the 304.5m mark; Se San 3A lake reached 238.98m, only 0.02m lower than the normal water level.
Some other reservoirs such as Dong Nai 4 reached 475.46m above the normal elevation of 476m; Da Mi reached 324.63m, only about 0.4m lower than the design threshold.
Meanwhile, many reservoirs in the South Central Coast are still at low levels such as A Vuong reaching 364.05m compared to the normal water level of 380m; Song Tranh 2 reaching 163.36m, nearly 12m lower.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 28, the Northern region (except Lai Chau, Dien Bien) will have hot sun, with intense hot sun in some places with the highest common temperature of 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C. Tomorrow evening there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue city has intense heat, especially intense in some places with the highest temperature commonly 37-39 degrees Celsius, in some places above 39 degrees Celsius.
The South Central Coast has hot and intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 36-38 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C.
