The water level of major rivers on July 18th tends to change slowly, fluctuating according to reservoir regulation and tides.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the Thao River, the water level in Yen Bai is rising, while in Phu Tho it will decrease. At 7:00 am on July 18, the water level of the Thao River in Yen Bai was 2,676 cm, in Phu Tho it was 1,338 cm.

On the Lo River, the water level in Tuyen Quang and Vu Quang fluctuates due to rain and the influence of upstream hydropower regulation. At 7:00 AM on July 18, the water level in Tuyen Quang was 1,535 cm, and in Vu Quang was 796 cm.

The flow to Hoa Binh reservoir on the Da River fluctuates according to the regulation of the upper hydropower line and the impact of rain in the basin. At 7:00 AM on July 18, the flow to Hoa Binh reservoir reached 4,442 m3/s.

In the lower reaches of the Red River, the water level of the Hanoi station is fluctuating according to the regulation of the upper hydropower line and the influence of tides. At 7:00 AM on July 18, the water level reached 399 cm, forecast to rise to 410 cm by 7:00 PM on the same day.

On the Thai Binh river system, the water levels of the Cau, Thuong and Luc Nam rivers continue to change slowly, affected by tides. The water level at 7:00 AM on July 18th at Dap Cau was 160 cm, Phu Lang Thuong 147 cm and Luc Nam 109 cm.

In the North Central region, the water level of the Ma River, Ca River, La River, Gianh River and Huong River generally changes slowly or fluctuates according to reservoir regulation and tides. The water level of the Ma River at Giang station at 7:00 AM on July 18 is 213 cm; La River at Linh Cam is 106 cm; Gianh River at Mai Hoa is 68 cm and Huong River at Kim Long is 49 cm.

In the South Central Coast, the water levels of the Vu Gia - Thu Bon, Tra Khuc, Kon and Ba rivers continue to change slowly or fluctuate according to the regulation of reservoirs, irrigation works and tides. At Cau Lau station on the Thu Bon River, the water level at 7:00 AM on July 18 was 53 cm; Tra Khuc River at Tra Khuc station was 124 cm; Kon River at Thanh Hoa was 679 cm.

In the Southeast region, the water level of the Dong Nai River at Ta Lai station at 7:00 AM on July 18 was 1,109.9 cm, fluctuating according to upstream reservoir regulation. The water level of the Be River at Phuoc Hoa was 1,956 cm and continued to fluctuate according to reservoir regulation.

In the Central Highlands and Mekong River basin, the water levels of the Dak Bla and Krong Ana rivers continue to fluctuate according to hydropower reservoir regulation or change slowly. The water level of the Dak Bla River in Kon Tum at 7:00 AM on July 18 is 5,154.5 cm; Krong Ana River in Giang Son is 4,148.1 cm.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns that from July 18 to 20, a flood will continue to occur on rivers in the Northern region, with a flood amplitude of 2-4 m. The peak flood on small rivers, upstream of the Thao River, Lo River and rivers belonging to the Thai Binh system may reach alarm level 1-2, in some places above alarm level 2.
