According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 4:30 PM on February 18, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Lake recorded an upstream water level at an elevation of 114.27 m, lower than the normal water level by 120 m; water inflow to the lake was about 50 m3/s and no discharge occurred.
In the Northwest region, Lai Chau Lake is at 293.88 m, 295 m lower than the normal water level; inflow to the lake is 108 m3/s.
Ban Chat Lake reached 457.52 m, 475 m lower than the normal water level, and is generating electricity with a discharge flow of 213 m3/s.
Huo Huoi Quang Lake has a water level of 369.39 m, approaching the normal water level of 370 m; inflow to the lake is 176 m3/s and has not been discharged.
Son La Lake is at 214.6 m, close to the normal water level of 215 m, and is generating electricity with a discharge flow of 191 m3/s.
Notably, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded a water level of 112.6 m, significantly lower than the normal water level of 117 m, while the total discharge through the plant reached 298 m3/s, much higher than the water flow to the reservoir (40 m3/s).
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for February 18th, the Northern region has rain, scattered light rain; cold weather, mountainous areas have places with deep cold. The lowest temperature is commonly from 16-19 degrees C, mountainous areas have places below 13 degrees C.
The Southern region will have showers and thunderstorms in some places at night, sunny days, and hot sun in some places in the East.
