According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 9:00 AM on May 1st, in the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoir (Tuyen Quang) recorded an upstream water level of 110.19 m, lower than the normal water level of 120 m. The inflow to the reservoir reached 100 m3/s, no water discharge has occurred.
In the Northwest region, Lai Chau Lake (Lai Chau) has a water level of 292.28 m, 295 m lower than the normal water level; water inflow to the lake reached 518 m3/s and has not been discharged.
Ban Chat and Huoi Quang reservoirs in Son La have water levels of 432.84 m and 369.75 m respectively, both higher than the dead water level and approaching the normal water level. Water flow to the reservoir is low, discharge activity has not been recorded.
Notably, Son La hydropower reservoir is generating electricity with a discharge flow through the plant of 349 m3/s, while the upstream water level reaches 205.91 m, lower than the normal water level by 215 m.
At Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir (Hoa Binh), the upstream water level at 6 am on May 1st reached 108.98 m, lower than the normal water level by 117 m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 505 m3/s, the total discharge through the plant was at 1,028 m3/s.
Meanwhile, Thac Ba reservoir recorded a water level of 51.55 m, water inflow to the reservoir reached 93 m3/s and has not been discharged.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 1st, the Northern region will be sunny during the day. The highest temperature is commonly 28 - 31 degrees C. The night and morning will be cool with the lowest temperature around 20 - 23 degrees C, mountainous areas in some places below 20 degrees C.
The Southern region is sunny during the day, especially the East has hot sun.
