According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:00 on May 29, Hoa Binh hydropower reservoir had an upstream water level of 104.04m, nearly 13m lower than the normal water level of 117m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 857m3/s, while the total discharge through the plant reached 2,890m3/s.
At Son La hydropower reservoir, the upstream water level is at 194.85m, 20m lower than the normal water level of 215m. The water flow to the reservoir reaches 739m3/s, the total discharge through the plant is at 2,128m3/s.
Tuyen Quang Lake recorded a water level of 103.57m, water inflow to the lake reached 243m3/s, while the total discharge reached 747.38m3/s.
Some lakes in the Northwest region currently have water levels approaching the dead water level. Huoi Quang Lake reached 368.48m, only 0.48m higher than the dead water level. Ban Chat Lake reached 440.77m, about 9m higher than the dead water level.
Meanwhile, Lai Chau Lake has a water level of 285.31m, nearly 10m lower than the normal water level, but has not yet generated discharge flow.
Thac Ba Lake recorded a water level of 50.2m, water inflow to the lake reached 87m3/s, total discharge through the plant at 284.31m3/s.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on May 29, the Northern and North Central regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. Rain will concentrate in the late afternoon and night.
The area from Quang Tri to Da Nang city, the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak have hot sun with the highest temperature commonly 35 - 36 degrees C, in some places above 36 degrees C.
The Southern region has showers and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain; from tomorrow evening, there will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.
