According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 12:00 on June 5, Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir had an upstream water level of 99.33m, 17.67m lower than the normal water level (117m) but still 19.33m higher than the dead water level. The water flow to the reservoir reached 40m3/s, while the power generation flow through the plant reached 2,333m3/s. The reservoir did not operate overflow discharge and did not open deep discharge and surface discharge gates.
At Son La reservoir, the water level reached 194.48m, 20.52m lower than the normal water level of 215m. The water flow to the reservoir reached 452m3/s, currently no water discharge is carried out.
Lai Chau Lake recorded a water level of 290.12m, 4.88m lower than the normal water level of 295m. Inflow to the lake reached 211m3/s. Meanwhile, Huoi Quang Lake reached 368.6m, only 1.4m away from the normal water level and 0.6m higher than the dead water level.
For Ban Chat Lake, the upstream water level is at 443.17m, 31.83m lower than the normal water level of 475m.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 97.91m, 22.09m lower than the normal water level of 120m. The inflow to the reservoir reached 60m3/s.
Thac Ba Lake maintains a water level of 49.84m, 8.16m lower than the normal water level of 58m. The inflow to the lake reaches 121m3/s, while the power generation through the plant reaches 288.81m3/s.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 5, the Northern region will have rain at times in the morning, and localized hot sunshine during the day with the highest temperature in the day in some places above 35 degrees Celsius.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang city and the east of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces will have hot and intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 36 - 38 degrees C, in some places above 38 degrees C.
The Southern region has showers and thunderstorms in some places, especially in the late afternoon and evening there are scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain in some places.
