Hydropower reservoirs in the Central - Central Highlands region are generally still lower than the normal water level, maintain stable operation and do not have to discharge floodwater.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 4:00 PM on June 8, in the North Central region, Ban Ve Lake had an upstream water level of 176.27m, 23.73m lower than the normal water level (200m).

Quang Tri Lake reached 465.96m, about 14m lower than the design elevation. Meanwhile, Trung Son Lake is at 156.59m, only 3.41m lower than the normal water level.

In the South Central region, many reservoirs continue to record low water levels. A Vuong reservoir reached 361.41m, nearly 19m lower than the normal water level; Song Bung 2 reservoir is 17m lower; Song Tranh 2 reservoir is about 15m lower. Vinh Son A, Vinh Son B and Vinh Son C reservoirs are also 5-8m lower than the design elevation.

In the Central Highlands, the water level of many lakes has approached the normal water level. An Khe Lake reached 428.21m, only 0.79m lower; Dong Nai 4 Lake reached 475.37m, 0.63m lower; Da Mi Lake reached 324.02m, about 1m lower.

Reservoirs on the Se San River system such as Se San 3, Se San 3A and Se San 4 all maintain high water levels, only 0.2-3m lower than the normal water level. Buon Kuop Lake reaches 410.11m, less than 2m lower than the design elevation.

Notably, currently only a few lakes are discharging through spillways. An Khe Lake is opening 1 surface discharge gate with a flow rate of 8m3/s, while Buon Kuop Lake is opening 1 deep discharge gate with a flow rate of 15.18m3/s. Most of the remaining lakes do not discharge through spillways, mainly operating power generation through power plants.

According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on June 8, the Northern Delta region and the south of Phu Tho will have hot sun, with intense hot sun in some places with the highest common temperature of 35-37 degrees C, in some places above 37 degrees C. From the evening of June 8, the North will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain.

The area of Hue city, Da Nang city and the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak have intense and especially intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 37-39 degrees Celsius, with some places above 40 degrees Celsius.
