Implementing Directive 21 of the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on mobilizing the construction and repair of houses for poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances, localities in the province are entering the final stages of drastic decline with the goal of completing all 6,442 houses within more than 3 months.
In Thanh Chuong district, the "120 days to the finish line" campaign is being implemented synchronously with a total of 632 newly built and repaired houses. Steering committees at all levels have organized the signing of progress commitments to each household. The spirit of "whoever has something to contribute" is promoted, mobilizing the entire political system, mass organizations, and armed forces to participate. Since the beginning of April, hundreds of houses have been started. Currently, 225 apartments are under construction, striving to complete before June 30.
Mr. Trinh Van Nha - Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee - said that the district pays special attention to resettlement communes such as Thanh Son and Ngoc Lam - where there are large numbers of houses needing to be built. Working groups were assigned to stay in the area and coordinate with Border Guard officers to remove difficulties at the grassroots level.
In Tuong Duong district - the locality needs to support the largest housing in the province with 1,808 units - a "90 -day and night" campaign that started in early March. According to Mr. Dinh Hong Vinh - Chairman of the District People's Committee, members of the District Steering Committee have directly "3 together" - eat, live and build people with people. As of April 10, the whole district has started 452 units; Expected to complete the whole construction in June.
Along with that, Quynh Luu district is also trying to "racce" against time. Since the beginning of the year, the district has completed the groundbreaking for 100% of approved households. To date, only 57 houses are in the completion stage, striving to hand over before April 30.
According to the leader of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district, progress monitoring is carried out weekly; if there is a delay, the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee will directly direct the handling.
The movement of building houses for poor households is also spreading in Yen Thanh, Do Luong, Nam Dan... Each district has a creative way of doing things, but they all share the same sense of responsibility and determination before the time frame set by the province.
According to statistics from the province, in just 20 days from March 20 to April 10, Nghe An entire has started construction of 4,040 houses (1 841 newly built, 2,217 repaired), completed and put into use 1,619 houses. With the participation of the entire political system and high determination from Party committees, authorities to each hamlet, Nghe An is showing a bright spot in the country in the way and effectiveness of the housing support program for the poor.
However, according to assessments from localities, the challenge is still great when many households subject to support are facing economic difficulties.
According to Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh, closely following reality, providing close support, and flexibly removing obstacles are key factors to complete this humane task before the district-level apparatus ends operations on July 1, 2025.
