A heartbreaking family situation
On the morning of May 30, the air in the coastal village of Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city (Quang Binh) seemed to have been receding for many days.
Since Mr. Pham The Nhan (born in 1982) - crew member of fishing boat QB91207TS - unfortunately fell into the sea and went missing on the morning of May 27, the whole community has entered a long, meaningful and hopeful search together.
Information from the Bao Ninh commune government said that the situation occurred when fishing boat QB91207TS was on its way back to shore, about 81 nautical miles east of Nhat Le estuary. Ship owner Nguyen Van Hai immediately sent an emergency signal, calling on other ships to support. However, the weather conditions in the offshore area at that time were somewhat complicated, significantly affecting the search.
Despite the difficulties, many fishing boats of Bao Ninh fishermen still work together to check each sea area and each net. No one told anyone that each boat temporarily put aside its livelihood, temporarily stopped using fishing gear to spend all its time on the search.
This action not only demonstrates compliance with the regulations against IUU fishing, but is also a vivid demonstration of the spirit of "Bao Ninh people do not leave each other in the middle of the sea".
Continue to mobilize forces to search for victims
Mr. Pham The Nhan is the main breadwinner in a family of 5. His wife does not have a stable job, and his three children are all of school age.
The older child is preparing for the high school graduation exam in a confused mood. They have nothing but a four-story roof on the sand bank.
Since hearing the news of her husband's disappearance, Mr. Nhan's wife has been unable to eat or sleep, just sitting at the door, sometimes looking out at the vast ocean. "Just hope for a miracle", she choked up.
Currently, the border guards, Bao Ninh commune authorities and the Dong Hoi City Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue are still coordinating with fishermen to expand the search area.
From the afternoon of May 29, the search area has expanded, based on calculations of the flow and monsoon. Participating fishing vessels are also instructed to connect regularly via walkie-talkie, and at the same time implement.
The search enters the fourth day. In the hearts of everyone in Bao Ninh, there is still a strong belief that they will soon bring Mr. Nhan back, whether in hope or in endless grief.
