On June 3, Sen Ngu Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri province) said that it had just joined people to support a mother carrying 2 children from Hai Phong to the southern provinces, when passing through Quang Tri province.
On the same morning, Sen Ngu commune police and people discovered the mother carrying 2 children walking on National Highway 1A through the area. After supporting care, functional forces and people supported renting a car to help the 3 mothers and children return to their hometown, the mother agreed and got on the car to return to her hometown in Hai Phong.
Previously, the Department of Health of Quang Tri province had a document sent to the People's Committees of communes and wards in the area on monitoring, supervising, and supporting children at risk.
According to the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Health, the unit received information from the National Child Protection Hotline 111 and other information channels about a mother carrying a child of about 6 months old and a child of about 3 years old walking from Hai Phong, expected to walk to An Giang.
In hot weather conditions, the mother and children are moving along National Highway 1, through communes and wards in Quang Tri province. The incident is attracting special attention from the community.
To ensure the safety and legitimate interests of children, the Quang Tri Provincial Department of Health requests the People's Committees of communes and wards to direct the Department of Culture and Society, commune health stations, and commune police to monitor and supervise the journey of the mother and children when passing through the managed area.
Localities need to promptly access and support children with essential services such as arranging accommodation, necessities, and food, to ensure children are safe and receive appropriate care.
In case of urgency, localities should contact the Southern Quang Tri Social Work Center and the Northern Quang Tri Social Work Center via hotline 18009293 to receive and take children to the emergency protection center.
The Department of Health of Quang Tri province also requested that if children have health-related symptoms, they should be taken to the nearest medical facility for timely medical support.
