From around 3pm, the flow of vehicles from the Western provinces towards Ho Chi Minh City has continuously increased. On National Highway 1A, Binh Thuan overpass (section through Binh Dong ward, Binh Chanh commune)... thousands of motorbikes, cars crowded together, at many times vehicles could only move slowly.


Traffic police were present at intersections and congestion points to regulate and divert traffic.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, a worker at Tan Tao Industrial Park, said that his family of 3 returned home for a holiday from August 30.
"I have to go to work tomorrow so I have to return to the city in the afternoon. The road is dong, the weather is hot, so it is quite difficult to move, and the children sitting behind are also very tired," said Mr. Hoa.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Loc (40 years old, from Can Tho) lamented: "Every holiday and Tet holiday, every day when returning and the last day returning to the city when traveling to this area (Binh Thuan overpass) is congested. I hope the city will have more solutions to reduce traffic pressure during the holidays".

It is forecasted that the congestion may continue until late afternoon, when the flow of vehicles from the Western provinces continues to flow into the city.
The Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that after the holiday, the traffic volume from neighboring provinces and cities returning to Ho Chi Minh City to work and study will increase dramatically, especially on national highways and expressways connecting the East - Southwest region.


In addition, the city is currently implementing many projects on the road under exploitation such as the Binh Trieu 1 bridge area on National Highway 13. Tan Van intersection (Tan Van - Nhon Trach section) under the Ring Road 3 Project; An Phu intersection; My Thuy intersection;... greatly affecting people's traffic activities through these areas.
The expected hot spots include: An Suong intersection, An Lac, Dong Nai bridge, My Thuy intersection, An Phu intersection, Ring Road 3, underpass area and key overpasses, ferries in the city.

To limit prolonged congestion and ensure a safe and smooth journey back to Ho Chi Minh City, the Traffic Police Department recommends that people proactively choose a suitable departure time frame and refer to alternative routes.
