A small alley carrying a series of vehicles day and night
Lane 381 Nguyen Khang Street (Cau Giay Ward) has long been considered a "black spot" of traffic congestion in this ward.

The alley is only 3 to 5 meters wide, even the bottleneck at the end of the alley is so small that the two cars cannot avoid each other. However, the alley has to carry a high density of vehicles every day, especially during rush hour.
For households living in this alley, the scene of dense traffic moving every kilometre has become a nightmare for many years.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuan (residing in lane 381 Nguyen Khang) said that her family's life was almost turned upside down due to constant congestion.
"There was a day just 100 meters from my house where I had to wait nearly 20 minutes because the rear of the car was packed with people. The alley is small but cars of all kinds come and go all day, making it very miserable to travel, Ms. Thuan said indignantly.

Sharing that feeling, Ms. Ta Thi Lien (residing in alley 381 Nguyen Khang) said that hundreds of households living in the alley only hope that the project to expand alley 381 will be implemented soon.
Not only causing congestion, but the road surface has seriously degraded, many sections have sunk, collapsed, and are full of potholes, endangering students and the elderly.

"If it is not expanded soon, the overload situation will get worse. Just nearly 400 meters of road are always like peak hours, said Ms. Lien.
It is known that lane 381 Nguyen Khang plays an important role in connecting regional traffic, connecting Xuan Thuy - Duy Tan - Thanh Thai axes with Ring Road 2, Yen Hoa bridge and Lang road.
The entire route has nearly 100 households, including traditional markets, shops and An Hoa Primary School, causing the sudden density of vehicles.
Progress of site clearance for lane 381 Nguyen Khang
To reduce the load, in the immediate future, the People's Committee of Cau Giay Ward has proposed that the Department of Construction temporarily ban cars from traveling in one direction from Thanh Thai to Nguyen Khang. However, this solution is only temporary.
According to the Cau Giay Ward Infrastructure - Investment Project Management Board, the project to renovate and expand lane 381 is facing many difficulties in site clearance.
The total area to be reclaimed is 7,328.2m2 with 103 options. To date, 46 plans (equivalent to 1,948.8m2) have received money. Of which, 19 plans have been handed over the site, 24 plans are still being developed.

In addition, there are 7 options that have been voluntarily dismantled and handed over the site even though they have not received the money. However, there are still 46 options (2,493.2m2) that have not received payment and have not been handed over, with a total compensation value of more than 164 billion VND, becoming the largest bottleneck of the project.
An important reason is that many households have not agreed with the compensation price, thinking it is lower than the city's land price list. Some households have proposed adjusting the road boundaries to both sides.
According to the Cau Giay Ward Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board, these recommendations have been compiled by the Cau Giay Ward People's Committee and reported to the relevant units for consideration.
Meanwhile, the resettlement housing fund in building N01 D17 - Cau Giay New Urban Area is still under construction, expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2026. This unit said it will continue to mobilize people to soon implement the project.
While waiting for the project to be resolved, people living in alley 381 Nguyen Khang still suffer from traffic jams and unsafety every day. People hope the alley will be expanded to make traffic smooth again, returning peace to daily life.
