In the Draft Law on Science, Technology and Innovation (KHCN&DMST), there are many preferential policies for individuals working in this field.

Accordingly, individuals working in science, technology and technology will be given priority to be sent for training, capacity building and development; enjoy incentives on training, development, personal income tax, employment, labor and housing policies.

Individuals participating in research, development and innovation will be consulted and supported to complete research results, register for intellectual property protection; supported to develop technical standards and regulations for research products; supported to commercialize research results.

In addition, they are also supported to use research and development infrastructure invested from the state budget to complete research results.

Individuals with outstanding research results or awards for science, technology and innovation selected by the State will be considered for recognition and appointed to a higher scientific research or technological title regardless of their years of service.

Individuals working in research, development, innovation in the business sector, overseas Vietnamese or foreign experts with outstanding achievements will have their working time calculated to be arranged for job positions, scientific titles, and technology titles equivalent to the recruited job without having to pass an entrance exam.

Special incentives for leading scientists, general engineers, scientists, and engineers in charge of important tasks.

In addition to general incentives, this group of subjects also enjoys five special incentives:

Special salary and allowances according to the agreement with the state agency assigning the task; being allocated public housing and means of transport during the performance of the task.

Proposed to mobilize science and technology human resources, funding for performing tasks and material and financial resources to ensure performing tasks.

To hire domestic and international experts, negotiate rental costs; decide to purchase patents, designs, technical documents, and technology secrets to serve the task within the assigned budget.

Self-determination and financial support to participate in domestic and international scientific conferences and seminars in professional fields.

Incentives for talented young scientists and talented young engineers.

In addition to general incentives, this group of subjects also enjoys four special incentives:

Priority is given to funding to support improving qualifications at home and abroad.

Priority is given to presiding over scientific, technological and innovation tasks.

Prioritized in presiding over tasks to support the establishment of strong research groups in their professional fields.

Receive partial support for tuition and living expenses when studying, researching, and exchanging academic skills at home and abroad.

Incentives for individuals who are overseas Vietnamese, foreign experts

Individuals working in science, technology and technology who are overseas Vietnamese or foreign experts in priority development areas of Vietnam will be considered for preferential policies on entry and exit, residence and issuance of labor licenses.
