Many households in Minh Hoa district (Quang Binh province) returned home when their area was still dangerous due to the effects of storms and rain.

On the afternoon of September 19, Mr. Doan Ngoc Lam - Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee - sent a telegram to the Chairman of Minh Hoa District People's Committee about evacuating people to safe places to cope with storm No. 4 and heavy rain.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province requested Minh Hoa district to resolutely evacuate people from unsafe areas to safe places; enforce measures against those who do not comply with instructions on natural disaster prevention and control, and absolutely not be subjective or negligent.

Previously, on the morning of September 19, Mr. Lam and a working delegation from Quang Binh province inspected storm prevention and control work in Tuyen Hoa and Minh Hoa districts.

In Minh Hoa district, the delegation inspected high-risk landslide areas in Hong Hoa commune and Quy Dat town.

During an inspection at the high-risk landslide area at the foot of Cay Suong Mountain in Residential Group 8 (Quy Dat Town), Mr. Doan Ngoc Lam discovered many households returning to their homes despite an evacuation order.

Notably, on August 18, local authorities completed the evacuation of nearly 40 households living at the foot of Cay Suong Mountain. It is known that this mountain range had previously experienced subsidence. However, today, some families voluntarily returned home to live.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province has directed functional forces and local authorities to urgently evacuate these families, and at the same time requested to inspect and review the entire process of evacuating people.

Mr. Lam requested Minh Hoa district to review cadres and Party members who did not comply and were not exemplary before the people.
