After a period of implementation, many districts in Ha Giang province have completed the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses early to help disadvantaged households settle down and make a living.

Having moved to a new house for nearly 2 months now, the feelings of resentment for the whole family of Mr. Nong Van Binh, Dong Tam commune, Bac Quang district (Ha Giang) are still the same as recently.

The new house of more than 80 square meters is solidly built, without having to worry every time the rainy and stormy season comes. Having lived for more than half of their life, Mr. Binh and his wife had never thought of having such a spacious house.

"The old house has walls, rotten roofs, leaking in the rain, and during the flood season, we often have to stay there and suffer. Recently, with 60 million in state support, savings and additional loans, the couple is determined to build a new house. Now I am very assured," Mr. Binh shared.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Secretary of Dong Van District Party Committee said that the District's Steering Committee for the Elimination of Temporary Houses has assigned specific plans to communes, closely monitoring progress, and promptly resolving problems in the implementation process.

"Along with the support from the State, we also mobilize maximum social resources, so that the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is the joint effort of the whole community. Thanks to that, the progress is also accelerated," Mr. Dung informed.

After reviewing the whole Ha Giang province, there are 10,688 households that need support to eliminate temporary houses. Currently, construction of 4,222 houses has started. This border province aims to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses by the end of October 2025.
