Gia Lai - River water continues to rise, heavy rain has isolated hundreds of households in the western area.

Heavy rain lasting from November 16 to 18 along with the release of floodwaters caused the water level of rivers and streams to rise, causing flooding and overflowing, isolating many residential areas in communes and wards in the western area of Gia Lai.

According to Lao Dong reporters, the culvert overflowed through the villages of Mo Nang 2 ( Ia Pa commune), Plei Du and the sports school area ( Po To commune) more than 1m deep, causing more than 500 households to be isolated.

Meanwhile, the water level at the foot of Ben Mong Bridge at noon on November 18 was nearly alert level 3, causing the entire area of the Ba River embankment ( Ayun Pa ward) to be deeply flooded.

Many areas of crops continue to be submerged in water. It is still raining heavily and the river water continues to rise rapidly.

Local authorities have deployed forces on the spot, ready to move residents in low-lying areas to safe places when flooding occurs.

Communes and wards have also set up barriers, warning signs and deployed forces at both ends of the spillway, preventing people from moving back and forth to ensure safety.

At the same time, it is required that villages grasp the situation, in case of emergency, if there are sick people, they must immediately report to local authorities to deploy a support plan.
