Mr. Trung said: " alone, the cost of towing a car from Thai Nguyen to Phu Ly (Ninh Binh) cost more than 7 million VND, the repair cost is probably tens of millions of VND more. Taking the car to the outside province will be faster to repair, I also need to have a car soon to continue running the service".
At this time, on the roads from Thai Nguyen to provinces such as National Highway 37, Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway..., it is not difficult to see the image of rescue vehicles carrying 1 or 2 cars flooded, many of which are still covered in mud.
Mr. Tran Tien - the owner of a car garage in Hoang Mai ward (Hanoi) said that on October 11 alone, Mr. Tien's garage received 5 flooded cars from Thai Nguyen, most of which were in quite serious condition.
"My garage can receive and repair more than 10 flooded vehicles at the same time. I am still renting a trailer to take the vehicle back from Thai Nguyen. Some customers in Bac Ninh have also called but I have not received them for now because there are many customers booking," said Mr. Tien.
According to some car repair garage owners, vehicles that have been soaked in water for a long time should be taken to repair as soon as possible. Because the water can cause rust, destroying many devices on the vehicle.
If the vehicle is submerged in static water (ie not moving), the power system will be most severely affected by most of the power lines, controls, and electronic devices often placed under the vehicle floor. This part needs to be replaced to ensure stability.
In the case of a vehicle being hit by a hydraulic shock (ie water overflowing into the incinerator) causing engine damage, the repair is much more expensive due to high replacement costs, which takes a long time to repair.
Therefore, experts in automobiles advise that vehicle owners in heavily flooded areas such as Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Lang Son... have flooded vehicles. If the vehicle is overloaded and repaired, they should take the vehicle to neighboring localities for timely repair, avoiding leaving it too long to cause serious damage.
Repair costs up to hundreds of millions of VND
According to a survey by PV at some garages specializing in repairing flooded cars in Hanoi, the cost to fix flooded cars can range from 10 million VND to hundreds of millions of VND, depending on the car model and the value of the car.
For regular vehicles, worth less than 1 billion VND, if they are only flooded with stagnant water, the repair cost is from 10 - 20 million VND. If the vehicle is attacked by a watercraft, the cost can range from 50 to more than 100 million VND.
With luxury cars, worth billions of VND, the repair cost will be huge because the cars are equipped with many modern technologies and features. When the vehicle is flooded, replacing these equipment can cost hundreds of millions of VND.
