On April 14, the leader of Quang Tri People's Committee confirmed that, before the river bank erosion was serious in many localities, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province asked departments, branches and localities to urgently implement response solutions, in order to ensure the safety of the life and property of people in the upcoming rainy season.
Mr. Ha Sy Dong - Acting Chairman of Quang Tri People's Committee said that the People's Committee of Hai Lang, Trieu Phong and Cam Lo districts and relevant departments focused on reviewing the situation of river bank erosion in the locality, identifying crucial areas, at risk of affecting residential areas, technical infrastructure works and agricultural production. In particular, it is necessary to quickly propose temporary solutions, and at the same time prepare a dossier to propose investment projects on construction of long -term landslide prevention works.
The provincial People's Committee also assigned the Command of Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the province, the Department of Finance, the Department of Agriculture and Environment and the relevant localities to summarize and propose the list of urgent projects, submit to the competent authority for consideration and allocation of capital from the central budget, the provincial budget and other legal capital sources for implementation.
In addition, the requirement is to improve the forecasting and early warning of areas at risk of landslides to actively relocate the population if necessary, especially in the rivers, streams and low -lying areas, which are often affected by natural disasters. Localities must be ready to "four in place" to promptly respond when a bad situation occurs.
Earlier, the Lao Dong newspaper informed through the article "Proposal to urgently handle river bank erosion in Quang Tri province", reflecting the river bank erosion in Quang Tri is increasingly serious, directly threatening many residential areas and production land areas in Trieu Phong, Hai Lang and Cam Lo districts. The landslides have been around for a long time, but the localities have no funding, so they only reinforce and temporarily overcome, making the landslide more serious.
