As Lao Dong reported, at around 9:30 a.m. on August 7, the inter-commune road surface in Mao Sao Chai village, about 200m from the headquarters of the People's Committee of Sin Che commune, Lao Cai province, suddenly subsided into a deep hole, causing local traffic congestion here.
Immediately after discovering the incident, the Order Police Team under Sin Che Commune Police coordinated with the Commune Economic - Infrastructure Department to conduct a field survey and stretch warning ropes, block off dangerous areas to ensure safety for people and vehicles.
On the afternoon of August 7, speaking with reporters, Mr. Vien Dinh Hiep - Chairman of the People's Committee of Sin Che commune said: "The sinkhole is about 10m deep, estimated at more than 100 m3. This situation also often occurs in the locality because of the limestone terrain. We are currently working on repairs, and it is expected that the road will be opened to traffic by tomorrow (August 8).
Regarding the solution, Mr. Hiep said that he will use stone cages to connect them together and then release rocks down to fill the sinkhole.
