Through the monitoring and counting system of the units, the whole province has a total of 7,313 vehicles/18,979 workers.
As of 10am this morning (September 18), there were 7,262 vehicles anchored at the port. There are currently 51 vehicles at sea.
Of which, the sea area of the Southern Gulf of Tonkin has 43 ships and 287 workers (the ships are expected to come ashore on the afternoon of September 18); the sea area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai has 8 vehicles with 40 workers anchored to avoid the wind in front of Tinh Ky port, Quang Ngai province.
The command directed units to continue to stay close to the area, grasp the weather situation, coordinate with local authorities to review disaster prevention and control plans, especially proactively evacuate people from border villages on hillsides at risk of landslides and flash floods.
Check and replenish food reserves. Coastal units coordinate with authorities at all levels to continue calling for and arranging boats at safe anchorages and ports on Gianh, Dinh, Nhat Le and Loan (Roon) rivers.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 9:00 a.m. on September 18, a strong tropical depression of level 7, gusting to level 9, was about 213 km from Hoang Sa archipelago and was moving west at a speed of 10-15 km/h.
At 7am tomorrow, the tropical depression will be about 210km east-southeast of Quang Tri, 120km east of Da Nang, with the strongest wind at level 8, gusting to level 10, and heading west-southwest at a speed of 20km/h.
