On October 18, the Quang Ngai Provincial Civil Defense Command said that it is forecasted that in the afternoon and evening of October 19, storm FENGSHEN (international name means Storm) will pass through Lu-Dong Island, Philippines and enter the East Sea to become storm No. 12.
It is forecasted that from the evening and night of October 19, cold air will affect the sea area of Quang Ngai. On October 22-24, the waves are likely to increase to 3-4m. This period is likely to last until around the afternoon and night of October 25, with winds and waves gradually decreasing below 2.5m.
It is likely that from the afternoon and evening of October 19 to 20, there will be a widespread heavy rain in the east of Quang Ngai province.
Notably, from October 23-26, when storm No. 12 weakens into the Hue - Quang Ngai area, combined with the easterly wind field, it will cause widespread heavy rain. This rain is likely to have a common amount of up to 200-400mm, some places over 500mm and the possibility of causing flood warning level 2-3 on rivers and above alert level III on Tra Cau and Ve rivers.
Heavy rain depends largely on the impact of storm No. 12 and cold air, so authorities in Quang Ngai province will continue to have to closely monitor regular updates and provide response solutions.
