Quang Tri - The landslide repair in Khe Sanh commune will be completed within 15 days for people to repair their houses and stabilize their lives.

On the afternoon of December 15, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the anti-slip project in the residential area of Hung Vuong Street, Village 3A, Khe Sanh Commune, in the "Quang Trung Campaign" to rapidly build and repair houses for families whose houses were damaged by natural disasters.

This project has a total investment of 18 billion VND, invested by the Department of Construction and constructed by Brigade 384 - Army Corps 12.

To speed up the progress, Quang Tri province mobilized a large number of human resources with the support of Military Region 4, Corps 12. Strive to complete the project by December 31.

The project aims to overcome landslides, ensure safety for people in affected areas and prevent landslides on Hung Vuong Street, Khe Sanh Commune.

In order for the project to be implemented on target, ensuring quality, safety and progress, Mr. Phan Phong Phu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, requested the investor to uphold the sense of responsibility, mobilize maximum human resources and equipment, propose scientific and strict construction solutions, develop a construction plan of "3 shifts, 4 teams", determined to "overcome the sun and overcome the rain" to speed up progress but must ensure absolute safety in all fields.

The leaders of Quang Tri province assigned Khe Sanh commune to continue to closely coordinate with relevant units to do a good job of site clearance, propaganda, and mobilization of people to support; ensure security and order.

With the strong determination of the entire political system, the active support of Military Region 4, Army Corps 12, the efforts of the units participating in the project and the consensus of the people, believing that the project to overcome the consequences of natural disasters caused by landslides in the Hung Vuong road area will be completed on schedule, soon promoting the effectiveness of people's house renovation to stabilize their lives and activities - Mr. Phan Phong Phu said.

On November 16 and 17, 2025, heavy rain caused serious landslides, directly affecting 12 households in Khe Sanh commune, of which 1 house collapsed, so the locality evacuated 12 households to safety. On November 30 and December 3, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch 234 and Official Dispatch 1551, directing the Central provinces to promptly overcome the damage after natural disasters.

At the online meeting on the morning of December 9, the Prime Minister continued to request to speed up the "Quang Trung Campaign", speed up the reconstruction and repair of houses for families whose houses were damaged by recent natural disasters. Also at this meeting, the Prime Minister criticized Quang Tri province for not implementing repairs for 12 households whose houses were severely damaged by the impact of storms and asked the province to report.
