The Pham Van Dong Road and Square Upgrade Project is invested by the Quang Ngai City Land Fund Development and Investment Project Management Board; implemented on an area of about 12.2 hectares, including the following components: Renovation of the square, lake and Pham Van Dong Street. According to the contract signed with the investor, the contractors have 120 days to complete the entire project, which will be deployed on site from December 20, 2024. However, in mid-March 2025, Quang Ngai will have two important events: the 80th anniversary of Ba To Committee (March 11) and the 50th anniversary of Quang Ngai Provincial Liberation Day (March3). Therefore, all items of the project are required to be completed and eligible for use no later than March 10, ready for the locality to organize major events.
On February 28, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Bui Duc Thuan - Director of the Management Board of Investment, Construction and Land Fund Development of Quang Ngai City said that on December 19, 2024, the Investor coordinated with relevant units to organize the handover of the site to the construction contractors. For the current square area, contractors are focusing on implementing the construction of granite paving items in the main square area and the landscape yard. To date, 11,500/12,200 m2 has been deployed.
On March 1, the granite paving of the main square and the landscape yard is about to be completed to hand over the site to the event organizer. The tree planting and electricity items are within the main square and landscape yard, along with many other items that have been completed.
To ensure the project is on schedule, nearly 700 officers, engineers, workers and hundreds of equipment have been mobilized to the construction site to divide into dozens of construction teams day and night, urgently completing the project.
Mr. Bui Duc Thuan shared that the total value of the project has so far reached about 70% of the workload, the progress is closely following the requirements. To speed up the construction progress and complete the upgrading and renovation items of Pham Van Dong Street and City Square, the Investor respectfully requested the City People's Committee to recommend the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to consider directing competent authorities to promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to allow the liquidation of assets of transport infrastructure.
