Immediately after the press reported the situation of household waste, construction waste and many other types of waste being illegally dumped and piled up along the Dinh River road (Quy Nhon Dong ward), on July 22, Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the locality to urgently handle it.

However, after more than 10 days, this situation has not improved, waste continues to surround the Dinh River, causing serious pollution, making the landscape shabby and greatly affecting people's lives.
Recorded at the beginning of August 2025, along both sides of the riverside road, household waste and construction waste... have not been thoroughly cleaned up, and even more have arisen.

Many opinions are concerned that without drastic and timely measures, the Dinh River will become a "black spot" of pollution in the heart of the city, affecting the environment and losing the inherent green - clean - beautiful image of Quy Nhon.
On August 3, Mr. Tran Viet Quang - Chairman of Quy Nhon Dong Ward People's Committee - said that after the provincial leaders directed, the Department of Agriculture and Environment organized a survey team and agreed to propose the Provincial People's Committee to assign the Department of Construction to handle the matter.

"Through the Department of Construction, the public service company will directly clean up. This unit has prepared a budget estimate and is currently waiting for the province to approve. As soon as approved, the clearing will be implemented, ensuring completion before August 15," said Mr. Quang.
According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong Ward, the illegal dumping of garbage along the Dinh River has been happening recently, especially before and after the merger.
