Over 150 years of the heritage journey of brewing beer originating from the city named after Uncle Ho
SABECO's beer-making heritage journey has been inherited and developed in parallel with the transformation of the city and the country, becoming an indispensable part of Vietnamese cultural and social life over the past 150 years.
Originating from the first beer cooking facilities in Saigon - the cradle of Vietnam's beer industry, Saigon beer, Sabeco's main brand brought in the sustainable heritage of Vietnam's beer art from 1875. The French Navy officer Victor Larue came to settle in Saigon and founded one of the first ice factories in the region, to meet the cooling water needs of a tropical market. This ice production facility, located at Hai Ba Trung Street today, laid the foundation for a beer empire at that time.
Applying for construction in 1908, in 1909, the plan to build a beer and ice factory in Cho Lon was approved by the French Governor in Indochina. This is the official milestone marking the formation of beer production infrastructure - the predecessor of the Sabeco system later.
On June 1, 1977, SABECO's direct predecessor, Southern Beer and Beer Corporation, was established and later renamed Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation (SABECO).
In 2017, ThaiBev of Thailand bought back 53.6% of SABECO's shares from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, marking a new chapter in SABECO's modernization and global expansion journey. To date, SABECO has been accompanying the development of the traditional beer industry, constantly innovating for development. SABECO has accompanied many generations of Vietnamese people through joyful and proud moments.

The program lasted for 4 nights at the city's iconic architectural works, in which SABECO and the Saigon Beer brand were exclusive sponsors for the 29th of April show. Each night of the show is a 3D mapping light film shown on the building bearing the heritage mark: Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Building combined with symphony music, contemporary dance and modern folk performance art.

With the participation of art troupes from Singapore, Belgium, France and Vietnam, the program is a place of intersection between modern performance technology and the depth of culture - history - urban identity.
With the theme "50 -year journey - from past to future", the series of events not only recreated the 50 -year journey of Ho Chi Minh City, from a city called Saigon to the dynamic city of Asia but also evokes many other values such as: Heritage is the foundation of the community; Culture is the connection circuit; The future stems from memories and people ...
