Flights operated by Dong Hai Airlines take off from Shenzhen (China) at 6:10 p.m. and land at Van Don at 8:10 p.m.; in the opposite direction depart from Van Don at 9:10 p.m., to Shenzhen at 0:00 a.m. (Vietnam time).
Each trip is expected to carry about 180 passengers. In the immediate future, in November, this route will be maintained periodically on January 1, 6, 10, 15, 20, and 24.
To prepare for the first flight taking place on November 1, on October 23, representatives of Van Don International Airport and functional forces worked with Dong Hai Airlines (a passenger transport unit from Shenzhen to Van Don, Quang Ninh), agreeing on procedures, reception plans and logistics to serve passengers.
A representative of Van Don International Airport said that the unit has prepared personnel, vocational training, procedures and foreign languages, meeting the standards for serving international passengers.
The airport is also actively promoting cooperation with airlines in Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia such as China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Japan.

It is expected that in January 2026, the airport will operate additional charter flights from Korea to Quang Ninh.
Van Don International Airport is a level 4E airport according to ICAO standards, put into operation since the end of 2018. The airport has a 3.6km long, 45m wide runway, capable of receiving modern aircraft such as Boeing 787, 777 and Airbus A350.
The infrastructure system includes 12 aircraft parking locations (3 Code E locations, 1 helicopter location).
The opening of more international routes, especially the Shenzhen - Van Don route, will contribute to helping Quang Ninh achieve the goal of welcoming over 20 million tourists in 2025, including 4.5 million international visitors.
