On the morning of November 23, the People's Committee of Mang Den commune said that a landslide had occurred on the slope of Ba Tang slope.
At the scene, about 500 m3 of rock and soil spilled onto the road. The commune mobilized human resources and vehicles to urgently clean up and make efforts to reopen the road.
"Due to the large amount of rock and soil and the risk of further landslides, it is expected that by more than 10am the same day, the commune will open National Highway 24 to enter Mang Den commune or towards Quang Ngai city," said a representative of the People's Committee of Mang Den commune.
National Highway 24 is a vital route, every day many people and vehicles pass from Mang Den Eco-tourism Area to Kon Tum (old) and Quang Ngai City.
Mang Den is located at an altitude of 1,200 m above sea level, the climate is cool all year round, the forest cover is more than 75%, and is considered the "second Da Lat".

In 2024, the locality welcomed more than 1.2 million visitors; it is expected to reach 1.5 million visitors in 2025, with an estimated revenue of 1,345 billion VND. The commune aims to become a national tourist area and a nature resort center by 2030.
According to the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai province, during floods, National Highway 24 through Violak Pass and Mang Den commune often experiences landslides, threatening the lives and safety of people.
