On June 25, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Nong Commune - confirmed that there was a landslide that buried a house in Thom Luong village, however, at that time, no one was at home so there were no human casualties.
"Mr. Trieu Van Dao's 5-room wooden house was completely buried. After the incident, local authorities were present to support the family to overcome the consequences and move to a temporary residence.
Currently, there is no more rain in the area. At points at risk of landslides, localities have put up warning signs to ensure safety," the leader added.
Previously, as Lao Dong reported, from June 20 to 22, many areas in Tuyen Quang had moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places had very heavy rain. The soil moisture is in a state of near saturatation (over 80%) or has reached a state of saturatation.
Many areas in Ham Yen, Na Hang, Chiem Hoa, Lam Binh, Yen Son, Son Duong districts and Tuyen Quang city are at risk of landslides, causing local traffic congestion and destroying works causing socio-economic damage.
More than 20 houses in Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang city, Ham Yen district were flooded, mud and dirt flooded into their houses, causing damage to property in their houses.
Warning level of natural disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, land subsidence due to heavy rain or water flow is level 3.
Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee issued Document 3402 dated June 20, 2025, strengthening the work of preventing, combating and overcoming damage caused by natural disasters before the 2025 storm season.
