On the morning of September 6, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Quang Nam chaired a meeting with relevant departments, branches and units on the planning and development plan for Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport.
The arrangement of provincial-level administrative units between Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province leads to changes in the socio-economic development orientation of Da Nang City, the development orientation of dynamic areas between Da Nang and Chu Lai airports.
In addition, there are some difficulties in adjusting the planning of national defense land use, affected by the operating clearance of Da Nang International Airport.
In order to ensure the development of the two airports in accordance with new factors, especially after merging Da Nang City with Quang Nam Province, meeting the local socio-economic development goals, the Ministry of Construction and the People's Committee of Da Nang City have agreed to select a foreign consulting unit with capacity and experience to continue perfecting the planning plan for Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport.
Thereby, improving the quality and efficiency of exploitation as well as ensuring long-term development, optimizing land use plans of airports. At the same time, the existing airport enterprise was assigned to preside over and implement this content.
At the meeting, relevant departments, branches and units discussed the role, functions, and proposed planning and development plans for Da Nang International Airport and Chu Lai Airport to ensure the suitability and socio-economic development of Da Nang City after the merger.
