Recently, the Scientific Council of the Project for Conservation and Restoration of the Dien Bien Phu Headquarters Group Relic Site has just held a meeting to evaluate, comment and give comments on the project's Feasibility Study Report.
Accordingly, more than 70 years ago, in Dien Bien Phu, the French army built a group of 49 strongholds, organized into 8 clusters of strongholds - resistance centers - linked together.
Dien Bien Phu stronghold group is considered the strongest defense system of the French army in the war of invasion of Indochina, and is considered by French and American generals as "a Vecdoong in Asia", "na San vu ngan 10", "Invincible stronghold".

It is known that this is considered a large-scale, massive project and has a special significance in recreating all items of the Dien Bien Phu Group Center Area more than 70 years ago.
Mr. Vu A Bang - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Project Science Council said that the consulting unit, Cultural Heritage Conservation Company Limited, and leading experts have researched historical scientific and documentary documents, examined historical witnesses, and carefully researched issues related to the entire history of Dien Bien Phu.

"This especially important project is not only for Dien Bien but for the whole country built, managed, exploited by Dien Bien province, promoting the great cultural and historical value of the project, demonstrating responsibility towards the previous generation and towards the nation", Mr. Bang emphasized.
The project's scientific council also gave detailed and in-depth contributions to each issue and item of the project.
Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Investing more than 250 billion VND to recreate part of Dien Bien Phu battlefield", informing: The project to preserve and restore the Dien Bien Phu Group Center relic has a total investment of more than 250 billion VND from the central budget, implementation period from 2024-2026.

According to the approved plan, the project has a research scope for restoration on an area of about 10 hectares. Including: investment in renovating the General Do Cat Command tunnel area; preserving, renovating, and restoring the artillery site and artillery tunnel; soldier camps, field hospitals, and military medical tunnels.
Along with that, recreate the traffic system, expressway traffic, land lots and resistance holes, barbed wire fence system, goods of all kinds, system of equipment and materials to create a landscape surrounding the area of the French Army Command Center in Dien Bien Phu.
