On October 8, Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh - Director of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Ha Tinh province - said that up to now, localities in Ha Tinh have basically completed environmental sanitation work, treated domestic water sources, and prevented epidemics during this flood.

According to Mr. Thanh, previously, affected by storm No. 10, from September 27 to 29, Ha Tinh province had prolonged heavy rain, causing flooding of nearly 4,000 households, 350 wells, 27 clubs, 31 schools, 8 commune health stations and 2 commune People's Committees.

With the motto "Where the water recedes, treat the environment", CDC Ha Tinh has directed health centers to coordinate with commune health stations, village/hamlet health stations in flooded localities to instruct people on environmental sanitation, clean houses, treat environmental pollution, treat domestic water sources to ensure no secondary environmental pollution and disease.

During this flood, CDC Ha Tinh provided nearly 1,000 kg of Cloramine B chemicals to affected localities to treat water resources and clean the environment to prevent epidemics.

In addition, the unit has also organized teams to inspect and supervise environmental sanitation, domestic water treatment and epidemic prevention after rain and floods in affected localities.

On the afternoon of October 8, Mr. Nguyen Hong Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh province - said that up to this point, all schools affected by storm No. 10 and flooding after the storm have resumed teaching.

According to Mr. Cuong, with some schools having their roofs blown off, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the priority of using the central budget to support Ha Tinh with 500 billion VND to overcome the consequences of storms and floods to quickly implement the overcoming of schools and classrooms, soon ensuring the organization of teaching and learning is safe and stable.

Mr. Pham Viet Thang - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Power Company - said that due to the impact of storm No. 10, all 493,074 customers in the province had no power. After the storm, Ha Tinh Power Company and the Power Management Teams across the province focused on the repair work.

According to Mr. Thang, up to now, the power has basically been restored to customers. Currently, only about 180 households in Hong Lam "oasis" (in Nghi Xuan commune) do not have electricity. Ha Tinh Power Company is making efforts to be able to restore power to them as soon as possible.

Previously, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province reported that the impact of storm No. 10 caused the whole Ha Tinh province to have 1 death, 31 injuries; 117,252 houses were damaged, thousands of houses were flooded.

There are 425 schools, with 3,349 classrooms; 54 medical examination and treatment facilities; 583 cultural works, 87 historical and cultural relics damaged by storms, rain and floods.

5,250 power poles fell or broke; 163,839m of power lines were broken; 6,713 transformer stations were damaged. 3 ten-testers and 510 cable poles were broken; 215 stations were damaged.

223 cattle and 128,333 poultry died or were swept away; 210 tons of animal and poultry feed were damaged and many barns were damaged.

There are 818.55 hectares of vegetables, 6,523 ornamental plants of all kinds, 1577 hectares of perennial crops, 165 hectares of annual crops, 2,470 hectares of concentrated fruit trees, 74,400 fallen, damaged trees.

There are 355.4 hectares of traditional fish farming area, 35 hectares of rice fish farming area, 2.5 hectares of plain-skinned fish farming area, 778.5 hectares of shrimp farming area, ... damaged.

About 600m of dike, 3,560m of embankment, 115 culverts and balls were damaged; 17 dams, 12 pumping stations, 5,680m of riverbank and coast were eroded and damaged. There are 8,105 m of central traffic roads, 57,130 m of local traffic roads, 80 bridges and culverts damaged.

The total damage caused by storm No. 10 and floods after the storm in Ha Tinh is estimated at more than 7,000 billion VND.

Immediately after the storm, although busy organizing the 20th Ha Tinh Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030 (taking place from September 30 - October 2), the leaders of Ha Tinh province have directed departments, branches and localities to focus on overcoming the consequences.

On the afternoon of October 2, right after the end of the Provincial Party Congress, Mr. Vo Trong Hai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province directly visited Son Hong commune and Mai Hoa commune to inspect and direct the work to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10.

Then, on October 6, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai, together with leaders of a number of departments and branches, inspected and directed the work to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10 in coastal communes of Dan Hai, Co Dam, and Loc Ha.

Here, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed localities to quickly focus on repairing and re-roofing houses with blown-off roofs and damaged schools to soon ensure stable people's lives, ensure teaching after the storm, and not interrupt students' learning.
