At 1:40 a.m. on October 13, Cat Hai Border Guard Station, Hai Phong City Border Guard received a report of a maritime accident between a fishing boat and a cargo vehicle traveling in the Cai Trap canal area, causing the fishing boat to sink, threatening the lives of the crew members.
Immediately after receiving the information, Cat Hai Border Guard Station reported to the City Border Guard Command and urgently mobilized 2 boats and 7 officers and soldiers to the scene to organize the search and rescue.

At 1:40 a.m. the same day, the rescue team reached the location of fishing boat QN 3324 TS at coordinates 20°49'52"N - 106°52'09"E. At this time, the fishing boat had completely sunk, the three crew members were clinging to some objects floating on the water surface. The search force quickly approached, put the crew members safely on the boat, checked their health and provided first aid. Currently, the health of the 3 crew members is stable.
After completing the rescue work, Cat Hai Border Guard Station continued to send a boat and 5 officers to stay at the scene to coordinate with the Ha Nam/Hai Phong Canal Management Station to determine the location, divert the water, mark and warn maritime, ensuring safety of waterway traffic.
Currently, Cat Hai Border Guard Station is coordinating with relevant agencies to verify, clarify the cause of the incident and support fishermen to overcome the initial consequences.
