At about 8:15 am on April 15, fishing vessel BTh 95768 TS, 19m long, 750CV capacity, was anchored about 2km from Phu Hai fishing port (Phu Thuy ward, Lam Dong province) when it caught fire.
The fishing boat is captained and owned by Mr. N.V.T (resident of Phu Thuy ward). From the shore, people standing in many areas can clearly observe a column of black smoke rising high.
Discovering the incident, some fishing boats operating near the area quickly approached and supported firefighting. However, due to strong winds, the fire broke out fiercely, spreading quickly throughout the boat.
Because the boat caught fire at a distance far from the shore, functional forces encountered obstacles in accessing the scene.
Border guards used waterboats, canoes and ships to approach the area, coordinating with fishermen to deploy firefighting measures.
After about 1 hour of firefighting, the fire was extinguished. The fire did not cause any casualties.
