On the evening of November 16, the leader of the Phu Khanh Railway Exploitation Branch said that due to heavy rain from the afternoon of the same day, some railway sections in the Nga Ba - Cam Thinh Dong section, Nam Cam Ranh commune, Khanh Hoa province were flooded and could not be used.
Specifically, at km1369+421, water flooded the gang road and flooded into the guardhouse, causing the railway to be flooded 0.25m; at km1367+050, heavy rain swept away the soil and rocks, filling the railway railings.
The Railway industry has mobilized forces to overcome the situation in the rain, but the weather continues to be bad, posing a potential risk of insecurity.
From 15:05 on November 16, the authorities have temporarily suspended trains at Nghe Ba and Cam Thinh Dong stations, waiting for the water to recede to ensure safety.
According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 24 hours, there has been moderate to heavy rain in the area, scattered very heavy rain and thunderstorms in some places. Total rainfall is generally from 30-80mm, locally over 120mm such as: Nam Phuoc Dong 121mm, Suoi Tien 138.9mm.
It is forecasted that from the evening of November 16 to the end of November 18, Khanh Hoa province will have rain, moderate to heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Total rainfall is generally from 80-150mm, some places over 200mm, mountainous areas 100-200mm, some places are higher than 250mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Currently, on rivers in Khanh Hoa province, there are small floods below alert level 1. From the evening of November 16 to November 18, there is a possibility of a flood on the rivers of Khanh Hoa province, with flood peaks on rivers in the province at alert level 1-2, while Dinh Ninh Hoa River is at alert level 2-3, the time of flood peaks on November 17.
