On December 20, according to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the Deo Ngang road tunnel construction project has been basically completed. In which, the road surface in the tunnel has been paved with asphalt. The new Deo Ngang tunnel is 555m long, 10.5m wide, and has 4 lanes.
Currently, workers of Song Da 10 Joint Stock Company (Song Da Corporation) are focusing on the construction of electrical, painting and water pipe systems for fire prevention and fighting.
A construction site commander said that the company is focusing on the construction of the drainage phase, striving to open the technical traffic on December 31, 2025.
At the bridge and road leading to the tunnel in the north of the tunnel, in Hoanh Son ward (Ha Tinh province), vehicles, machinery and workers are also focusing on construction during the days when the water recedes.
Mr. Mai Van Nguyen - technical officer of Huy Hoang Construction Company - said that in the past, prolonged rain has greatly affected the construction progress of the bridge and the access road to the Deo Ngang tunnel of the unit.
After each rain, the unit has focused highly on construction, compensating for the volume. To date, with the length of the access road north of Deo Ngang tunnel being more than 550m, the unit has completed about 80% of the construction volume. Currently, the company focuses on pouring base A, then continuing to pour base B layer and conducting asphalt paving.
"We are making the best efforts to open the technical traffic on December 31, 2025, then continue to speed up construction to complete the project and put it into operation before the Lunar New Year 2026", Mr. Nguyen shared.
The project "Deo Ngang Tunnel and bridges and roads leading to the tunnel" with a total investment of more than 516 billion VND, started in January 2025, is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
