On July 23, Roon Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard) said that it had just coordinated with functional forces to find the bodies of 2 uncle and nephew suspected of drowning at Song Thai Lake.
Previously, at about 11 pm on July 22, the family discovered a motorbike, backpack, clothes and shoes of Mr. L.N. D (born 1991, residing in Phu Loc village, Phu Trach commune) and child T.L.B. K (born 2017, residing in Quang Kim village, Phu Trach commune) on the lake shore, near the Song Thai lake discharge culvert.
Suspecting that the two uncles and nieces went swimming and had an accident, the family reported it to the Phu Trach Commune People's Committee.
At the request of Phu Trach Commune People's Committee, on the morning of July 23, Roon Border Guard Station sent a team of officers and soldiers in charge of the deputy station chief to participate in coordination with the Police, the Military Command of the commune, the Fire and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police and people to organize the search.
To date, functional forces have found the bodies of both victims in an area about 10m away from the motorbike and shoe parking location, about 3m from the lake shore.
Currently, the case is being further handled by functional agencies according to regulations.
