On May 11, at Pac Bo Special National Relic Site and Kim Dong Historical Relic Site, the Central Team Council coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union and Cao Bang Provincial Team Council to organize a program to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Pioneer Youth Team (May 15, 1941 - May 15, 2026), attracting nearly 1,000 brothers and sisters in charge of the Team and children from 34 provinces and cities to participate.
The program took place in a solemn and exciting atmosphere with many activities about origin, traditional education, arousing pride and emulation spirit among team members and children nationwide.
At Km0 of the Ho Chi Minh Road in the Pac Bo Special National Relic Area, nearly 1,000 team leaders and children participated in a large-scale team performance.
The uniform, solemn formations along with the performances of Team flags and red scarves created a heroic atmosphere in the revolutionary land.
The highlight of the program is the sacred flag salute ceremony at Pac Bo and the number 85 jigsaw puzzle representing the 85 years of construction and growth of the Ho Chi Minh Youth Team.
The Vietnam Records Organization awarded the certificate of record establishment "Team Ritual Performance to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Pioneer Youth Team with the largest number of Team Leaders and participating children in Vietnam" to the Central Team Council.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Le Hai Long - Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Team Council emphasized that the journey to the source in Cao Bang is a meaningful activity, contributing to traditional education, fostering revolutionary ideals and spreading the spirit of "Proud of tradition - following in the footsteps of fathers and brothers" among Vietnamese children.
After activities at Pac Bo, the anniversary program continued to take place at Kim Dong Historical Relic Site with contents such as reviewing the Team's traditions, thematic activities "Proud of 85 years - Following the Team's historical page", commending teachers in charge of the Team and typical Team commanders in the period 2023 - 2025.
Delegates also organized incense offering to commemorate Heroic Martyr Kim Dong to show gratitude to the previous generation and educate patriotism for children.
Within the framework of the program, the Central Team Council and provincial and city youth unions awarded 50 scholarships to children in difficult circumstances; awarded 500 Team flags and 108 sets of Team drums to teams in the border area of Cao Bang province. The total value of activities is more than 590 million VND.
On this occasion, the Cao Bang Provincial Youth Union Council commended 33 teachers as Typical Team Heads and 20 excellent Team Commanders in Youth Union work and children's movements in the 2023-2025 period.
