On the afternoon of August 27, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of the Lao Cai Provincial Road Maintenance Management Board said that National Highway 4D near the Sa Pa toll station has been cleared after the landslide.
"As soon as we received the news, the unit mobilized human and machinery to carry out the clearing of rocks and soil on National Highway 4D. After 3 hours of efforts to fix the problem, at around 1pm this afternoon, the road was cleared to ensure travel for people and vehicles," the representative added.
Previously, as reported, at 9:45 a.m. on August 27, at Km120, National Highway 4D (through Ta Phin commune, next to the Sa Pa toll station), a large embankment landslide occurred (water volume of 2,000 m3 of rock and soil) causing a complete traffic jam.
The road maintenance unit then mobilized excavators and trucks to clear the road.
Notably, at the same time, people recorded the scene of a car that was lucky to escape the landslide.
