On February 13, the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board announced that the Tra Khuc river downstream dam project was officially opened to traffic, connecting both banks belonging to Truong Quang Trong ward and An Phu commune (Quang Ngai).
According to records in the downstream Tra Khuc river dam area (section passing through Truong Quang Trong ward and An Phu commune), traffic safety assurance items have been fully installed. The system of directional signs, speed limit signs, lane dividers, speed bumps... are fully and clearly arranged, creating favorable conditions for people and vehicles to circulate.

The number of cars and motorbikes passing by on the dam has increased smoothly. Many people take the opportunity to stop their cars to admire the scenery and take souvenir photos on the first day the project officially put into operation.
The opening of the project to traffic during the Binh Ngo Tet holiday brings excitement to people living along both banks of the river and neighboring areas. Not only is it a simple traffic infrastructure project, the dam also creates a landscape highlight for the center of Quang Ngai province.
The project was approved for investment from 2018 with a total investment of 1,498 billion VND. The project is invested by the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, implemented with a dual objective of combining irrigation and transportation.
Regarding irrigation function, the upslope dam has the task of retaining water, creating a water surface landscape for the central area, contributing to limiting saltwater intrusion in the dry season, supplementing domestic and production water sources for people. Regarding transportation, the road on the dam forms an important connecting axis between the south and north banks of the Tra Khuc River, reducing pressure on existing bridges.
The lower reaches of the Tra Khuc River, more than 16 km long, currently has 7 road bridges spanning it. The commissioning of an additional dam section contributes to completing the regional transport network, creating conditions to promote urban development on both banks of the river.
