Dak Lak - Functional agencies have opened 2 expressways through the area, and at the same time reduced the traffic volume of vehicles circulating on National Highway 1.

On May 19, Mr. Pham Truong Vu, Managing Director of the Chi Thanh - Van Phong expressway project (Project Management Board 7, Ministry of Construction) informed that the Chi Thanh - Van Phong expressway has officially opened to traffic on the entire route with a length of 48 km.

At 10 pm on May 18, the unit organized the opening of the entire route at the project. This is a great effort of contractors, construction units as well as authorities at all levels in accelerating the project progress.

On the same day, Mr. Bui Trong Lai, representative of Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Construction), said that the unit also organized the opening to traffic of the entire Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressway, nearly 62 km long, at 10 pm on May 18.

Previously, in April 2026, the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressway project of the North - South expressway in the East was completed and put into operation for more than 54 km.

The section of more than 7 km long in the area of the southern intersection of Cu Mong tunnel, belonging to Xuan Loc commune, Dak Lak province, cannot be put into use because the service road system is not completed.

However, relevant units have urgently accelerated the construction progress to promptly serve the travel needs of the people.

The opening of the entire route of the two expressway projects is expected to contribute to shortening travel time from the South Central Coast region to Ho Chi Minh City and vice versa, while significantly reducing the load on National Highway 1.

The Traffic Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police also issued a notice on the opening of the entire route of component projects belonging to the North-South expressway, the section passing through the province, from Cu Mong tunnel to Deo Ca tunnel.

According to the Traffic Police Department of Dak Lak Provincial Police, currently the toll stations on the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh and Chi Thanh - Van Phong expressways are still in the process of completion, so toll collection is temporarily not organized.

The Chi Thanh - Van Phong expressway project belongs to the North - South expressway in the East, with a length of more than 48 km, passing through many communes and wards of Dak Lak province. The project has a total investment of nearly 10,800 billion VND, invested by Project Management Board 7 (Ministry of Construction).

Meanwhile, the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressway project has a total length of about 62 km, passing through Dak Lak and Gia Lai provinces. The section passing through Dak Lak province is about 42 km long. The project is invested by Project Management Board 85 (Ministry of Construction), with a total investment of nearly 15,000 billion VND.
