On November 22, according to information from the Land Fund Development Center of Dong Nai province, for the site clearance of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, up to now, the authorities have mobilized the handover of 106 plots of land with an area of over 1.3 hectares, reaching nearly 31% of the total area of land to be handed over by the project.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway Expansion Project is nearly 22km long, of which the section passing through Dong Nai province is 13km long. To serve the project construction, Dong Nai province must reclaim more than 4 hectares, with 394 plots of land in Nhon Trach commune, Long Thanh commune, An Phuoc commune.

Currently, the authorities have completed the survey work of land acquisition and land acquisition maps and handed over land acquisition maps, technical records of land plots and provided project-based land acquisition and land acquisition information to units for implementation of tasks.
At the same time, it has conducted an inventory, prepared compensation, support and resettlement records for 140 plots of land with an area of nearly 1.6 hectares, reaching more than 35% of the plots of land within the project scope.
Localities have also implemented specific land valuation work (worked with consulting units, provided documents and implemented), however, up to now, there has been no draft land price plan.
Regarding the settlement of resettlement for households, currently, in Long Thanh commune, Dong Nai province, there are 27 households with houses that have been counted. The Long Thanh Branch Land Fund Development Center has transferred the list of households with houses on the land to the People's Committee of Long Thanh commune to prepare documents to consider and resolve resettlement arrangements according to regulations.
According to the Provincial Land Fund Development Center, Dong Nai is expected to complete and hand over the entire project site to the investor in December 2025.
Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) has approved the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh Expressway expansion project, part of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, with a total investment of nearly VND15,000 billion.
The project will be implemented from 2025-2027.
In the total investment for project implementation, public investment capital (state budget) is VND 6,500 billion (including VND 2,500 billion from increased central budget revenue in 2024 and VND 4,000 billion from medium-term capital in the period of 2026-2030); VEC's capital (including interest during the construction period) is nearly VND 1,700 billion; commercial bank and credit institution loans are more than VND 6,700 billion.
The project to expand the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh expressway section is about 22 km long, the center of the project route basically follows the old road, expanding to both sides, while the section across Long Thanh bridge is expanded to the right side of the existing route (downstream).
In particular, the section from the Ring Road 2 intersection to the Ring Road 3 intersection, over 4.8 km long, will be invested in expanding from 4 to 8 lanes; the section from the Ring Road 3 intersection to the intersection with the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, over 14.7 km long, will be invested in expanding from 4 to 10 lanes.
Along with that, invest in building a new Long Thanh bridge (more than 2.3 km long) with a scale of 5 complete lanes in the direction from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai, on the right side of the existing bridge.
