On December 31, Phuc Thanh Hung Investment Joint Stock Company announced the implementation of toll collection to recover capital for the Dien Chau (Nghe An) - Bai Vot (Ha Tinh) Expressway Component Project under the BOT form.
According to this announcement, on December 27, the State Inspection Council for Construction Acceptance agreed to accept the investor's conditional acceptance results for the project.
From 0:00 on January 5, 2025, the project will officially collect tolls to recover investment capital according to the provisions of the BOT contract signed with the Ministry of Transport. The toll collection period is 16 years, 6 months, and 8 days.
The project has 4 toll stations, of which 3 are located in Nghe An: Km430+500, Dien Cat commune, Dien Chau district; Nghi Phuong intersection, Nghi Phuong commune, Nghi Loc district; National Highway 46B intersection, Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district and one station located at National Highway 8A intersection, Thanh Binh Thinh commune, Duc Tho district, Ha Tinh.
Toll stations all use non-stop electronic toll collection system for all lanes, applying radio wave object recognition technology, free multi-lane ETC input, single-lane ETC output.
All vehicles entering the highway must use the non-stop electronic toll collection service. In case of intentional violation, service will be refused and the authorities will handle it according to the law.
Vehicles will travel at a maximum speed of 90km/h, a minimum speed of 60km/h, and 70km/h in tunnels. In the past, the Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway has served about 3.5 million vehicles for free.
Dien Chau - Bai Vot Expressway is one of 11 component projects of the North - South Eastern Expressway Project Phase 1 (2017-2020) and is one of 3 component projects invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).
The project has a total length of more than 50km, passing through two provinces: Nghe An (44.4km) and Ha Tinh (4.9km), with a total investment of more than 11,000 billion VND.
The project started in May 2021 and the first 30km of the route (from the QL7A intersection to the QL46B intersection, in Nghe An province) was opened to traffic on April 30, 2024. The remaining 19km (from the QL46B intersection to the QL8A intersection) was opened to traffic on June 30, 2024.
